- Recorded during the second Esquire Concert. The concert was organised to celebrate the restauration of Basin Street's original name (previously North Saratoga Street).This concert was broadcast, but cut short in the middle of Basin Street Blues, supposed to be the climax of the concert.
- Jazz Band Compact Classic is a double CD issued by Flyring Records, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex. It contains the complete broadcast.
- On DOCD-1010 the recording date is incorrectly given as 17 feb 1945.
